Social apps with killer growth
Two months ago we blogged about the number of monthly users for different social travel apps that are connected to Facebook. Here’s a new roundup, with a few more apps included! This is what has happened in just the last two months, for some apps that we at Tripbirds find interesting:

“Monthly active users” on Facebook means that there was some type of activity between the app and Facebook. As some readers pointed out last time, there are different types of app activity. It might be a bit misleading comparing numbers for different apps, but what you can really see is growth over time.
Some key take-aways:
- No big changes in in the social travel space. Tripadvisor is still king.
- Instagram really zipped past Foursquare in the last two months. Foursquare is still growing, but not at all like Instagram. Wow!
- Path, with the launch of the new version, passed half a million. Wow!
- Foodspotting is standing still at 20.000. The somewhat similiar rating-app Oink, which launched in november, is now at the same number.
But the most wow-moments had to do with the startups with Swedish founders:
- Spotify added more than five million monthly users. Wow!
- Soundcloud almost doubled in two months. Wow!
- Newcomer Wrapp is growing like crazy, increasing 8-fold in two months. Wow!
Is there some social app growth you think we missed?
